Hotel

She said she couldn’t fasten her seat belt. When I leaned over to help, her hand went somewhere else—and everything changed course.

I was twenty-two, with a curiosity kept under lock and key and the address of a hotel where no one would ask awkward questions. Antonella was waiting with a book in her hand.

I stepped out of the car with my coat open, wearing nothing underneath, and from across the street they started pointing at me. My husband watched from far away, waiting to see which one I’d choose.

No one in the family imagined what happened between Lucía and me when the lights went out and we disappeared for a weekend in some downtown hotel.

When I looked up from the sofa, Bruno and Damián were standing in front of me with their cocks out. I didn’t make it to the door.

She went down to dinner without panties or a bra. She said she didn’t know what was wrong with her, but I was starting to understand: that day she was going to cross every line.

When she got out of the car to meet another man, I knew that night would no longer belong only to me. I didn’t expect her to ask me to pay for the room from my phone.

I was twenty-one and had never been with anyone. A message on an app led me to room fourteen of a motel five blocks from home.

When the referee blew the final whistle, I knew there was no turning back: I’d have to pay up on the bet in front of my friend, right at the bar.

For two days I had been lowering the curtains to hide what I was doing. That last morning I decided to leave them open, and the woman in uniform stayed planted on the other side of the courtyard.

My husband spent the day at his conference while I melted away alone by the pool. When the waiter asked if I wanted something, I knew exactly what I was going to ask for that afternoon.

When I saw his socks lying on the hotel bathroom floor, I knew I was about to cross a line I could never uncross with my best friend.

We’d sworn the playroom would be oral sex only. We hadn’t counted on the man next to us watching—or on his wife’s hands on my back.

I swear that when I got on that plane all I could think about was closing the deal. I never imagined that night would be the one where I lost myself and us.

I’d spent half my life with the same woman when that stranger in leopard print sat beside me and looked at me the way no one had in years.

I’d been lying to Mateo for months, and when he understood that I knew everything, I didn’t fall apart. I put on the blue dress, left the house, and crossed the city to meet Adrián.

When I saw her get off the bus with the pink backpack over her shoulder, I understood that she had already made up her mind—and that I was only going to play my part.

I went out to smoke in the dark and saw him: crouched behind the palm tree, eyes fixed on the window where she was undressing, unaware she was being watched by two.

We’d been talking on WhatsApp for almost a year without ever meeting. That afternoon, in the hotel room, she sat down in front of me and started taking off her clothes.

At twenty, my world was diapers and silence. Then my boss left me a note with the coffee and started looking at me like I was another woman.
