1. Data we collect

If you browse without an account

• IP address, temporarily, to apply technical limits and prevent abuse.
• Anonymous story ratings you submit.
• Anonymous browsing events collected by our analytics tool.

If you create an account

• Email address.
• Display name (which you can edit).
• Comments you publish (visible with your display name).
• Stories you mark as favorites.
• If you use "Continue with Google" to sign in, we receive your verified email and name from Google.
• If you register a passkey, we store the cryptographic information needed to validate it; never a password.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

We use the following cookies:

• Technical session cookies: necessary to keep your session active. Without them you cannot sign in to your account.
• Google cookies: if you use "Continue with Google" to authenticate, Google may set its own cookies. Consult Google's privacy policy for more details.
• Analytics (Umami): we use a self-hosted analytics tool that stores aggregated browsing data. It does not use persistent cookies or identify users individually.

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking or browser fingerprinting techniques.

3. How we use your data

• Provide the service: allow you to sign in, comment, rate and save favorites.
• Moderate user-generated content.
• Prevent abuse, spam and automated activity.
• Understand how the Site is used in aggregate terms.

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties. We do not use it for advertising.

4. Retention

• IP addresses used for technical limits are kept only for as long as necessary to apply those limits.
• Your account data is kept while your account is active. If you request closure, we delete it within a reasonable period.
• Approved comments may remain visible alongside the story; upon account closure they are kept in anonymized form or deleted upon request.

5. Your rights

Regarding your personal data you have the right to:

• Know what data we hold about you.
• Request that we correct it.
• Request that we delete it.
• Request an exportable copy.
• Object to certain processing.

6. Minors

The Site is exclusively for persons over 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we detect an account belonging to a minor, we close it and delete the associated data.

7. Security

We apply reasonable technical measures to protect your data: HTTPS across all traffic, encrypted storage of credentials, rate limiting and access auditing. No system is completely secure, but we work to maintain an adequate level of protection.

8. International transfers

Your data may be hosted on servers located in different countries. In all cases we apply the same level of protection described in this policy.

We may update this policy. Changes are published on this page and take effect upon publication. We recommend reviewing it periodically.
